On weekdays, I love photographing intimate events in and around San Francisco. \u00a0For me, I get to photograph new people but I also chalk it up to a new educational experience every time. \u00a0Wether it be a tech keynote on cyber security or in this case a private tasting of the highly coveted Louis XIII Cognac, I always look forward to the next event!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This event was a private tasting for participants who purchased their very own bottle of this cognac. \u00a0Hand delivered from the cellar master from Copenhagen. \u00a0It was an honor to learn about this delicacy, smell, and meet and hear cellar master\u00a0<\/i>Baptiste Loiseau share his knowledge and experience with us all at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins here in San Francisco, Ca.<\/span><\/p>\n

First created in 1874, LOUIS XIII Cognac is an exquisite blend of up to 1,200 grapes eaux-de-vie sourced 100% from Grande Champagne, the first cru of the Cognac region. Each eau-de-vie is matured slowly inside oak cask. Each individually numbered decanter is designed after an original 16th century metal flask, discovered on the site of the battle of Jarnac in France and is made from fine crystal for generations, mouth-blown by some of the most skilled master craftsmen.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

LOUIS XIII is the embodiment of an ancestral savoir-faire, each decanter is the life achievement of generations of Cellar Masters. Since its origins in 1874, each generation of Cellar Master selects from our cellars the oldest and greatest eaux-de-vie for LOUIS XIII. Over the decades, a mysterious communion between the air, the wood and the eaux-de-vie culminates in a magical firework of flavors and aromas, evoking myrrh, honey, dried roses, plum, honeysuckle, cigar box, leather, figs and passion fruit. Louis XIII develops intense aromas which persist more than one hour on the palate.
